Effects of criticism are one of the main factors that create hurdles in every relationship and everyday life communication. In the 1990s a criminal ” Two Gun Crowley ” was in his apartment in new york city surrounded by hundreds of policemen trying to capture him. surrounded by police, exchanging bullet fires he wrote a note and sent it out stating ” under my coat lies a kind heart, a heart that would not harm anyone ”. But let me tell you about one of his crimes in which a police officer asked him for a driving license at a traffic signal and he just took his gun and shot the officer after that he came out of his car and took the officer’s gun and shot him again. when he was captured by police and sentenced to the electric chair his last words were ” this is what I got for protecting myself” instead of killing people. Almost every criminal when interrogated never condemned themselves but others, So if people like Two gun Crowley and many others never accept the responsibility for being wrong what about the people whom we came across in our daily life? criticizing them would make any difference? I don’t think so here is what I should do and what you should do. Next time when you think of criticizing someone stop for a while and instead of criticism try to understand the reason for that particular action and think from the other person’s perspective because it’s easy to understand the situation of others when you put yourself in their shoes. Criticizing will make the other person shift his mind into defensive mode and he will try to justify things to make you wrong and that will only lead that person away from you as you have attacked his belief system just by saying you are wrong.
